Exfoliate Dry Winter Skin Into Glowing Summer Skin

We've just about made it through the winter months and will soon begin breaking out our spring/summer wardrobes and start showing more skin. Skin that might be a bit dull and dry. To rejuvinate dull winter skin, it's important to exfoliate and moisturize. Many women exfoliate their faces but forget about other body parts, like our legs. As the weather heats up and you get bikini ready, you should exfoliate all over. Exfoliation is also important before applying tanning products.

Before stepping into the shower, brush your dry skin with your loofah, body brush or exfoliating gloves. This will help remove the loose skin and prepare your skin for the exfoliating process.

Begin with the soles of your feet, working your way up your body. This also helps to stimulate your lymphatic sytem, part of your bodies detoxifying support system.

Get into the shower and wet your body from head to toe. Don't exfoliate your skin if you are sunburned or have any open cuts or wounds.

Use a pumice stone on your feet to eliminate rough spots and calluses. If your feet are extremely rough, soak them in a basin of warm water mixed with a cup of milk for 30 minutes before getting into the shower.

Apply Onsen's Crystal Clear Scrub in Lavender or Sweet Macadamia to your loofah or gloves. Begin scrubbing your body in a circular motion starting with the bottoms of your feet and working your way up. When you reach the bikini area, use a lighter pressure because the skin is very sensitive.

Use a body brush to exfoliate your back and other hard-to-reach places.

Don't forget about your hands. You want them to look and feel soft and smooth too!
Rinse your body with lukewarm water, follow by the coldest water you can stand.

After stepping out of the shower, apply one of Onsens hydrating body lotions all over and the Modern Foot Lotion to the feet and Modern Hand Lotion to the hands.

Use body moisturizer once a day. Exfoliation is drying to the skin, so you must keep your skin hydrated.

This is a great treatment to do once or twice a week.

So come on! Reveal your skins natural, beautiful glow and get noticed!

Enjoy!

Jump For Jumpsuits!

With temperatures starting to rise outside, more Fashionistas appear on the streets wearing summery and playful outfits. And what can be more summery and playful than a flowery jumpsuit?

During the ‘60s the jumpsuit started to appear not only on high fashion runways but also on the streets. The one-piece wonder became particularly popular in the late ‘70s and the ‘80s. After being off the fashion radar for some time, the jumpsuit made a big comeback a couple of years ago and, judging from frequent appearances in runway shows this season, is not going anywhere for a while. Depending on the cut, fabric and colour, a jumpsuit can become anything from a chic and ladylike evening piece to a fun and comfortable resort wear.

Today’s Fashionista brings on a playful flair on a sunny day. Choosing a flowery print for her jumpsuit and pairing it with oversized ‘70s sunglasses she brings a boho chic vibe to her outfit. Colourful prints, be it flowers, geometric patterns or other ornaments will always put you in a summery mood. Fashion House LA has a wide variety of different styles on offer for an affordable price.

While the jumpsuit may seem a bit of an intimidating piece to wear at first, it actually can be very figure flattering when you choose a right style. The good thing about jumpsuits is that almost all accessories go with them. Some jumpsuit styles just ask for a belt as it balances out the whole outfit.

And you know another great thing about jumpsuits? You don’t need spend half of your morning trying to find the right top to go with your bottoms — all you need to do is just throw on some accessories and you are good to go. As it turns out, a jumpsuit is really a girls best summer friend.

Sweaters, especially oversized, are always comfortable and cute at the same time and a fashion necessity during the colder months. They create a bohemian look that practically anyone can pull off and there are so many ways to style them. Here are some of Fashion House LA's favorite ways to style oversized sweater for the fall/winter season.

To Belt Or Not To Belt

When it comes to choosing a belt, both a wide or a thin belt would work perfectly with your oversize sweater. If you want to mark your curves and accentuate your waist, cinching your sweater with a belt is a quick and easy way to do it. If you’re going for a more casual hippie chic look, not wearing a belt is a different oversize sweater look that you might want to try out as well. While one look is more elegant and sophisticated, the other is more edgy and chic.

Tights & Leggings To Keep You Warm

Tights and leggings are ideal for fall/winter weather and will look great with your oversize sweater, making it into a sweater dress. Opt for a dark color like black, brown or grey for a sophisticated, or edgy look, and for a bright color or cool pattern if you want a fun and exciting look. Leggings are as good of an option as tights.

When It Comes To Shoes…

Both leggings and tights can be worn with any style shoe of your choice like platform boots, wedges, oxfords, or even some sneakers. This will slim your legs and thereby accentuate your figure. After you’ve chosen your outfit it’s time to accessorize. Take advantage of the color of your sweater and mix it up with colorful shoes, bags and jewelry.

Jewlery Puts The Finish Touch…

When choosing a necklace pick one that has a long chain with a locket or a stone to keep the ensemble simple, chic and cute. If you are more of an earrings type of girl, try it with some chandelier earrings or some colorful clip ons. Attempt to roll your sleeves up a bit and wear lots of bangles or a cuff bracelet. A pretty cocktail ring will do the trick as well.
